Emmanuel McCall is the interim pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta and a former Baptist Center for Ethics board member.

1. Where did you grow up?
In the farm community of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh on the Youngstown, Ohio/Pennsylvania state line.
2. What is your favorite Bible verse, book or story? Why?
Philippians 3:10-11.
It was the verse God led me to during one of my spiritual crises.
3. What is one of your favorite movies? Why?
I don’t have a favorite movie, but I enjoy nature films on TV.
4. Who are three of the people you admire?
John Claypool, Garland K. Offutt (the first African-American to graduate from a Southern Baptist seminary in 1946 and my role model) and Reggie Johnson (pastoral leader on developing preachers).
5. What is one little known fact about yourself?
Every position I have ever held sought me, rather than I it.
