Three EthicsDaily.com documentaries that aired this summer are coming back for an encore on an expanding network focused on African Americans.
Documentaries on prisons, racism and immigration – all hot-button issues in the news – will air in December on Soul of the South Network (SSN), headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas.

EthicsDaily.com announced in June that its documentaries, “Through the Door,” “Beneath the Skin” and “Gospel Without Borders,” would be broadcast in July and August by SSN, which launched in 2013.

Since those airings, unrest took hold in Ferguson, Missouri, after the shooting of Michael Brown; immigration reform in the United States has fallen off the radar, but calls for prison reform won’t go away.

Through the Door” will air at 8 p.m. (CT) Monday, Dec. 8, and at 4 p.m. (CT) Sunday, Dec. 14.

Beneath the Skin: Baptists and Racism” will air at 8 p.m. (CT) Monday, Dec. 15, and at 4 p.m. (CT) Sunday, Dec. 21.

Gospel Without Borders” will air at 8 p.m. (CT) Monday, Dec. 22, and at 4 p.m. (CT) Sunday, Dec. 28.

SSN is also now in 26 markets, having expanded from 16 when EthicsDaily.com first announced the summer airdates.

New major markets include Atlanta, Detroit, Washington and Nashville. These join other large metropolitan areas served by SSN that include New York City and Chicago.

SSN is available over the air in all its markets and also on cable systems like Comcast, Time Warner and Verizon FIOS and others. See each network’s reach and availability here.

SSN will broadcast specially edited 47-minute versions of each of the documentaries.

EthicsDaily.com announced in June, in an editorial by executive editor Robert Parham, a pivot to providing more faith content for TV.

“We are witnessing an explosion of broadcast and online streaming portals. Technology has made a lot of ‘pipes’ available. Running far behind technology is quality faith content,” Parham wrote. “And that’s where we think we have something positive to contribute – as a faith content provider.”

EthicsDaily.com documentaries have appeared on three television networks since May – Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters, Soul of the South and National Religious Broadcasters.
