Exploring the marvels of creation is time well spent. It expands the mind, warms the heart and puts our lives in right perspectives.
That’s why I’m excited to announce a new Nurturing Faith Experience, March 10-16, 2018, on the Big Island of Hawaii — where we explore nature from seas to skies.
At 14,000 feet, Mauna Kea’s summit is considered by scientists to be the best location in the world to observe the stars and study the origins of our universe. There we will have the unique opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of the world-class Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope and Observatory.
Astrophysicist Paul Wallace, author of Stars Beneath Us: Finding God in the Evolving Cosmos and “Questions Christians Ask Scientists” columnist for Nurturing Faith Journal, will gives us a personal “tour of the sky” and guide our faith-science conversations.
We will enjoy remarkable sunsets from Mauna Kea before looking into deep, dark space. And, off the mountain, we will discover more of nature’s wonderment.
Black sand beaches, rugged coastlines, lush green mountains and sparkling waterfalls — as well as the active Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park — will be explored.
There will be opportunities for snorkeling among the abundant and remarkable sea life, riding horses through scenic Waipio Valley, and much more including a historical sunset dinner cruise.
This is a customized, small-group experience, not a commercial tour. Personal attention, enjoyable interaction and unique opportunities to expand our minds and nurture our faith are the marks of Nurturing Faith Experiences.
This is an adventure, an exploration of nature, and an experience in faith-science dialogue. While we will wrap up the week in a beautiful beach setting, those seeking a pampering resort experience will want to plan such before or after this experience.
