We must never think of ourselves as more important than others. There is no such thing as a menial person regardless of the task he or she may perform.
That includes those who cook and serve our food, drive our buses or cabs, or clean our rooms. In fact, they more directly impact our lives than we do theirs.
But there are more noble and spiritual reasons for treating everyone with respect. Such actions reflect what we claim to believe about God and God’s creation.
Yet it is easier to say we are all God’s children than to reflect that belief in the way we treat everyone we encounter today.
