Joining this year’s Nurturing Faith Experience in Yellowstone and the Tetons has been quite the experience so far, with an unexpected arctic blast that brought July temperatures into the 30s, but failed to put a chill on the camaraderie among our 19 travelers.

It’s hard to imagine visiting these parks without taking lots of pictures in hopes of bringing home memories of the majestic vistas, impressive thermal features, and signature wildlife — but the photos can never capture the 360 degree reality of being here.

We were told that the color of the hot springs indicates the temperature of the water, with blue being the hottest: near boiling. Want to take a dip in Sapphire Pool?
Words can’t do much for it, either, so I’ll just post a few pictures, and forgo the several thousand words it would take to try and supplant them — other than to say that “Old Faithful” is not the only reminder we’ve seen of God’s creative and ongoing faithfulness in this world.

Mystic Falls is a rare breed in that it incorporates both flowing water and thermal vents – that’s not mist near the top, but steam.
